Austria identifies KeFeng6 from China

Along with other European countries, Austria has now started to identify new strains of unauthorised genetically modified rice in products originating from China
  • 3 September: RASFF No.2010.1203 – rice noodles were found to contain unauthorised keFeng6 and KMD1. The product was recalled from consumers.
  • 3 September: RASFF No.2010.1202– rice vermicelli was found to contain unauthorised keFeng6 and KMD1. All stock was gone.
  • 22 October: RASFF No.2010.1436 – rice noodles were found to contain unauthorised keFeng6. The product was recalled from consumers
*The Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF) is used by the EU Member States, Norway, Liechtenstein, Iceland and Switzerland. It was put in place to provide food and feed control authorities with an effective tool to exchange information about measures taken responding to serious risks detected in relation to food or feed.
