Finland - Unauthorised GM LLRICE601 found in food products

In October 2006, the Finish Food Safety Authority announced they had found GM Rice LLRICE601 in Uncle Benís dark rice, imported by Masterfoods Oy.

In separate announcement they stated LLRICE601 had also been found in the following products imported by Ruokakesko Oy:

  • Menu dark rice 10 kg, designed for institutional kitchens,
  • Menu wild rice assortment 5 kg, designed for institutional kitchens,
  • Pirkka wild rice assortment 1 kg, designed for retail
  • Pirkka instant rice 4 x 125 g, designed for retail
The finish authorities notified a further incident of LL601RICE Contamination in November 2006
